Leprosy care in the era of COVID – 19

Leprosy is a chronic infection of the skin and the peripheral nerves, affecting persons mostly from a less privileged social background. With the gradual reduction of cases worldwide and the windling of expertise, leprosy has been out of the limelight in the international health circles. Leprosy has been included in the list of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) by the World Health Organization (WHO), thus being recognized as a disease affecting marginalized communities needing intensified attention.
