Badulla district is a low-risk District with interrupted child leprosy transmission in all Divisional Secretariat Divisions. Kandeketiya, Lunugala, Rideemaliyadda and Soranatota DSDs have achieved the eliminated status of leprosy while Haldummulla, Meegahakiula, Uva Paranagama and Welimada DSDs are progressing to achieve leprosy elimination status with in the next 5 years.
