According to new indicators introduced by WHO, Child leprosy has been completely interrupted in all Districts of Central and Uva Provinces. In Northern Province, Child leprosy has been interrupted in Mannar, Mullaithivu and Kilinochchi Districts Out of 330 Divisional Secretariate Divisions, leprosy has been eliminated in 55 DSDs while another 14 DSD are achieving the elimination targets within the next couple of years. Another 177 DSDs have interrupted Child leprosy transmission but adult leprosy transmission has to interrupted. Only 83 DSDs have both child and adult leprosy transmission in Sri Lanka.
