Colombo district is a high risk district of leprosy with child leprosy transmission interrupted only in 1 DSD.It is functioning as two RDHS areas Colombo Municipal Council Area(CMC Area) and Colombo RDHS area. Annually more than 300 new Leprosy cases detect in both RDHS regions in district, Therefore Colombo district is highest Leprosy case reporting district in Sri Lanka.
