Mullathivu district is a low-risk District with interrupted child leprosy transmission in all Divisional Secretariat Divisions while Manthai East, Thunukkai, Oddusuddan, Maritimepattu and Welioya DSDs have achieved the eliminated status of leprosy while only puthukudiyiruppu DSD needs to interrupt the transmission of leprosy among adults.
